Summary: To provide outreach services and education to the Rhode Island community regarding COVID and influenza vaccination and community resources. This position works closely with and reports to the leadership of the Faith in Science coalition. Faith in Science (FiS) is a multicultural, multiracial, and interfaith team of clergy convened by the Rhode Island Ministers Alliance. As faith leaders, we recognize that we influence our communities. The goal is to serve the welfare of our faith communities and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color) populations across the state of Rhode Island; building relationships, trust, and community ties to encourage the uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine and booster in BIPOC communities. This is a grant-funded position, supported by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Research and coordinate outreach and education events on COVID and influenza information and promote vaccination
Coordinate, collect and provide to supervisor detailed data and statistics on outreach activities.
Research and coordinate partnerships to provide necessary services to each specific community
Assists in evaluation and analysis of outreach activities
Report to and check-in with Faith in Science leadership on project needs and updates.
Promote and deliver outreach services to public and social service providers through fairs, monthly schedule events, enrollment events, rallies, parades, presentations
Provide direct services as needed with one-on-one conversations
Be able to deal constructively with a very diverse population of people seeking assistance.
Maintain a supportive, safe and comfortable environment to promote assistance to visitors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Self-starter and can work independently
Excellent interpersonal skills, and verbal presentation.

Requirements for the Position

Outgoing personality is a must
Proven experience in community outreach
Human services experience preferred

Education, Experience and Skills:

1-3 years of community organizing experience
Management experience a plus
Technological and software skills required
Valid Driver’s License, Clean Driving Record, and active auto insurance policy
Bachelor’s degree in human services related field preferred
Experience in working with groups and speaking publicly
Experience in client-focused activities
Must have own transportation and be willing to travel throughout the state, as needed
Ability to work independently and to meet aggressive timelines
Strong organization and communication skills
Bilingual a plus (e.g. Spanish, Portuguese, Cape Verdean)
