Our mission is to develop leadership and advocacy skills in youth and young adults. Driven by a spirit of service and activism, we focus our energies on facilitating activities that engage, empower and mobilize young people in building bright futures for themselves and their communities.
The goal for our youth is to develop and teach qualities such as: self-confidence, interpersonal skills, professional communications skills, problem resolution techniques and skills, community and political awareness, personal responsibility and accountability.

Issues
Students have always been at the forefront of most major social movements. From the Civil Rights Movement of the 60's to the anti-apartheid movement of the 1980's, student activism has forced society and the world to change. NAACP Providence Youth Council members are engaged in social justice activism addressing issues at the local, state and national level. The primary focus issues for the Youth Council are the following:
