East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) has an immediate opening for a full time Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) Coordinator at our location at 100 Bullocks Point in East Providence.

EBCAP is offering a two-step sign-on bonus totaling $1,000 for external applicants.

SHIP provides assistance to individuals aging into, and/or who are already enrolled in the Medicare system learn about all Medicare options and available choices. The SHIP Coordinator is responsible to organize all activities to execute the program, including scheduling and staffing of Open Enrollment Events and oversight of volunteer activities. Additionally, the SHIP Coordinator will prepare and conduct workshops for program participants, attend monthly meetings provided by the Department of Elderly Affairs, and report to grant funding agencies. The successful candidate will conduct confidential assessments of the client’s insurance needs, educate and counsel Medicare recipients regarding choices and options, and assess and screen clients to determine if they are eligible for assistance programs.

Minimum Education Requirement:

This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent. Additionally, this position requires SHIP Counselor and Health Education Leader Certification.
