East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a full-time LIHEAP/Safety Net Traveling Eligibility Technician who is responsible for intake, assessment, data entry, basic information, and referral and all other activities related to the LIHEAP and Safety Net programs.
This may include regular travel to agency sites and flexible hours, as well as picking up products in the community for food pantries.
EBCAP’s Safety Net and Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) programs are in our Family Center located in Tiverton, RI. The Rhode Island LIHEAP is federally funded through the US Department of Health and Human Services and provides assistance to income-eligible EBCAP clients in meeting the costs of heating their homes. The Safety Net program provides community outreach, identification of potential EBCAP clients, assessment, information and referral, goal setting, and self-sufficiency planning according to the benchmark goals established in EBCAP initiatives. The Family Advocate will meet with individuals and/or families in the office, and in the community to assess and determine appropriate linkages to EBCAP services, including, but not limited to social service wrap-around and treatment services.
Minimum Education Requirement:
High School or GED preferred or relevant experience and be proficient with computer systems including Microsoft Office.
For Full-Time Employees Working 40 hours per week, some evenings.
