East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking two full-time (40 hours) /full-year Family Advocates for our Head Start Program at 8 John Chafee Boulevard in Newport, RI. EBCAP believes all families share the same aspirations for their children and will work collaboratively with the Head Start team to contribute to their children’s learning and developing experience.

EBCAP is offering a two-step sign-on bonus totaling $2,500 for external applicants.

The Family Advocate will provide education and case management services to Head Start families in both the family’s home and at the center. During the COVID-19 crisis, services provided by the Family Advocate Manager will be done through telephone and web-based applications to maximize the staff member’s health and safety.  successful candidate will utilize a strength-focused philosophy and approach to building self-reliance through the Family Partnership Agreement. the ideal candidate will adhere to Head Start Performance Standards, agency goals, as well as personnel policies.

The position requires a minimum of an associate degree with experience in Human Services or a related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. The ideal candidate must know community resources and enjoy working with children and families. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus, however, not required.
