East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking 3 full-time/full-year Home Visitors for our Early Head Start Program in Newport/ East Providence RI. EBCAP believes all families share the same aspirations for their children and will work collaboratively with the Early Head Start team to contribute to their children’s learning and developing experience.

EBCAP is offering a two-step sign-on bonus totaling $2,500 for external applicants.

The Home Visitor will support child development by partnering with parents and pregnant women to provide evidence-based information, coaching, and problem-solving opportunities regarding a variety of parenting topics through weekly 1 ½ hour home visits.  Set goals with parents for their children, complete developmental assessments, and follow up on parental concerns and requests.  Provide bi-monthly opportunities for group socialization activities at EBCAP facilities or with community partners.  The Home Visitor will provide overall case management services to families utilizing a strength-focused philosophy and approach to building self-reliance through the Family Partnership Agreement.  Home visitors will function within an intra-agency multidisciplinary team approach as well as identify and build community and state partnerships.

The position requires a minimum of an associate’s degree in Human Services or a related field. The ideal candidate must know community resources, and enjoy working with children and families. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus, however, not required.
