Summary: The Program Officer, Affinity Groups is responsible for overseeing the pipeline for future Tocqueville Society donors, who give $10,000 or more annual to United Way’s Community Impact Fund. This role works directly with Women United, stewarding and cultivating this female affinity group of leadership donors. Additionally, the manager researches and pilots future affinity groups directly to support the fundraising & engagement goals of United Way.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategically lead and manage Women United to retain and grow membership. Engage donors and prospects through events, volunteer opportunities, communications and personal outreach. Recruit, manage and empower key volunteers on the Women United executive committee and subcommittees to execute and achieve annual goals.
Develop and execute a fundraising strategy to maintain and grow Women United donors and prospects, securing minimum gifts of $1,000 each to United Way’s Community Impact Fund. In collaboration with the Donor Relations team, follow-up with prospective and lapsed members.
Build and manage a caseload of 75-100 qualified prospects and individual donors from Women United (and other future affinity groups) who can give $10,000 or more to United Way’s Community Impact Fund. Engage and communicate with portfolio regularly to strengthen the bond between the donor and their impact at United Way.  Partner with senior manager of Donor Relations to build individual cultivation plans for prospective Tocqueville Society members.
Collaborate with the Community Investment team on grant-making and public policy initiatives as it relates to Women United and future affinity groups. Partner with the Communications team to promote Women United on social media channels, monthly e-newsletters, and marketing materials.
Work closely with the Communications team, Program Officer- Strategic Events and Senior Program Officer- Volunteer Engagement to coordinate Women United (and future affinity group) events and identify potential corporate sponsors.
Identify, research and pilot additional affinity groups that create more pipelines to build the Tocqueville Society.
Manage a budget and maintain clear data records. Utilize CRM system to track, report and analyze on donor giving, event participation, and communications.
Work in collaboration with the full Resource and Engagement team to engage, recognize and grow donors and prospects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bachelor’s Degree,
3-5 years experience in fundraising, major gifts preferred
Volunteer management required
Event planning experience preferred
Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Experience with Microsoft Office suite and database management essential
